Kyrie Irving Renovates Dad’s House For Father’s Day NBA Life

The Cleveland Cavaliers’ Kyrie Irving might have come up short against the Golden State Warriors in the 2017 NBA Finals. But Irving is still a champion (2016) and it’s easy to forget he’s still only 25 years old. At such a young age, he’s already collected a lot of silverware – Rookie of the Year (2012), Rising Stars  Challenge MVP (2012), 3-Point Shooting Champion (2013), 2014 All-Star Game MVP and of course the NBA title from last year.

Kyrie dedicates his success and every trophy he receives to his father Drederick Irving. Kyrie lost his mother at the tender age of four and that’s when his dad made the ultimate sacrifice. Drederick, who had the opportunity to play professional basketball, gave up that chance to focus on raising his two kids – Kyrie and his sister Asia.

With Father’s Day around the corner, Kyrie wanted to give back to his dad. And so Kyrie renovated a house that meant so much to Drederick. Irving’s father raised him and his sister in this house. Drederick also saved each trophy that Kyrie won and so the house has a room with all of Kyrie’s trophies.
