Cleveland Cavaliers 78-108 LA Clippers

A depleted Cavaliers squad were taken apart by the Clippers at the Staples Center. With No LeBron James, Kyrie Irving, Kevin Love and Kyle Korver, the Cavs were at the mercy of the Clippers. Blake Griffin pounced on the opportunity and posted 23 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. DeAndre Jordan finished with 13 points and 17 assists while JJ Redick was 6-of-11 from the field for his 16 points.

 

For the Cavs, seven players reached double figures, but none scored more than the 12 points racked up by Richard Jefferson in the loss.

Sacramento Kings 94-110 Oklahoma City Thunder

There was to be no fifth straight TD for Russell Westbrook as the Thunder gained another win, this time over the Kings at the Chesapeake Energy Arena. Westbrook posted 28 points, 8 rebounds, 10 assists and 4 steals. He also received support from Doug McDermott, who posted 21 points and five rebounds for one of his best games since his move from the Bulls to OKC.

 

The Kings didn’t get into any shooting rhythm, making only 5-of-21 from three-point range and posting 41.2% from the field in a timid display.

Washington Wizards 93-98 Charlotte Hornets

Cody Zeller’s 19 points was enough for the Hornets to end a three-game losing streak and bag a W against the Wizards. Kemba Walker and Marvin Williams posted 16 points apiece on the night.

 

The Wizards had an off shooting night, posting only 36.7% from the field and 33.3% from beyond the arc. John Wall recorded 19 points and 8 assists while Bradley Beal chipped in with 18 points but it still couldn’t prevent the Wizards from missing out on a win.

Portland Trail Blazers 113-97 Atlanta Hawks

A 40-point first quarter was enough for the Trail Blazers to coast to victory against the Hawks at the Phillips Arena. Damian Lillard finished with 27 points while CJ McCollum added 22 points and Allen Crabbe added 16 points for the win.

 

The Hawks never recovered from the slow start, even though Ersan Ilyasova and Tim Hardaway Jr. posted 23 and 22 points respectively.
