With the Wizards and Celtics in a close race for the second seed in the Eastern conference playoffs, it was a tense match at the TD Garden. Isaiah Thomas returned from a two-game absence and led the Celtics to a win in a game that saw the Celtics outrebound the Wizards 54-39 and hold them to a sub-par three-point shooting of just 22.9%. Bradley Beal top-scored for the Wizards with 19 points.

Utah Jazz 100-107 Indiana Pacers

Jeff Teague led the Pacers with 21 points and was ably supported by Paul George as Indiana took care of the Jazz at home. The Pacers have not won consecutive matches since February 8, but maintained their number six playoff standing in the East with the win. The Pacers survived Gordon Hayward’s career-high 38-point barrage and Rudy Gobert’s stellar 16-point, 14-rebound and career-high 8-block outing.

With no Paul Millsap available for this one, the Hornets took advantage at home and kept themselves in the playoff hunt with a win against the Hawks. Kemba Walker and Nicolas Batum combined for 32 points and 10 assists while Frank Kaminsky was key coming off the bench for the Hornets. Dennis Schroder scored 20 points for the Hawks.

Philadelphia 76ers 109-112 Orlando Magic [OT]

In a matchup between two basement dwellers in the East, it was the less fancied Magic who came out on top at home versus the Philadelphia 76ers. The Magic erased a 17-point deficit in the game to complete the comeback in overtime. Having also beaten the Phoenix Suns in their last game, the Magic have consecutive wins for the first time since December. The 76ers fell short despite Robert Covington’s (24 points, 13 rebounds) and Richaun Holmes’ (24 points, 14 rebounds) double-doubles and a 20-point contribution from Nik Stauskas.
