West RD 1: Randolph, Conley Help Grizzlies Bounce Back Vs Spurs In Game 3 NBA Playoffs

G3: San Antonio Spurs 94-105 Memphis Grizzlies

The Memphis Grizzlies took apart the Spurs in Game 3 on the back of Zach Randolph’s and Marc Gasol’s 21 points to make it 1-2 in the Western Conference Round 1 match-up. Mike Conley posted a game-high 24 points in the win as the Grizzlies shot 50.6% from the field and 40.9% from beyond the arc for the W.

It was a close contest to begin with as the score between the two teams remained at 21-21 at the end of the first quarter. Watch as both sides exchanged a couple of dunks early in the game:

The second quarter, though, was where the Grizzlies started taking control of the game with Zach Randolph and Marc Gasol adding 24 points at the half to give the home team a four-point advantage.

If there was any hope of a Spurs comeback, it was instantly squashed as the Grizzlies mauled Gregg Popovich’s team through the third quarter, dropping 31 points and restricting the home team to 17. An 18-point gap had opened up and this was the Grizzlies’ game to lose.

The fourth quarter saw the Spurs reduce the deficit to 11 points but that wasn’t enough on the night as the Grizzlies won at home and are now primed to make a comeback in Game 4 on the back of this victory.
